I don’t even care about any potential speed gains. The Riva plates on any Yamaha hull make such a drastic improvement in ride quality and handling that’s its worth every penny to get one.

My rear end on the seat isn’t going to notice whether I’m doing 76 or 78 MPH. But it will notice a difference in ride quality and handling.

If you don’t have a riva plate and refuse to try one, what makes you say that?

I could see where the added length would make for even a better ride in rough/ choppy water.

Just an update. Last weekend the ski would run 78-79 mph. 86° the air temp. Not bad for up in missouri running a stage 1+.

I am running Stage 1+ with the riva plate with two spacers and still get some bounce if I go above middle trim. This is with my 295lb fat butt riding it. I was running about 75-76 with a full tank so fast enough for me. I can hurt myself just fine at those speeds.

please try your original plate with a 1 mm shim on front leading edge. You will get no bounce and should be st same speed if not better

I was under the impression one shouldn't put any spacers on the front of a ride plate for some reason. To be honest, it's more than fine for me and I am too lazy to swap it back out. I'm not running balls out all of the time and am not that worried about a mile an hour or two. Was just giving my experience with the Riva plate.

It’s interesting however that you basically cannot dial the bounce out which has always been my argument about using the riva plate

                          Because it's too long.

I have no bounce with the 2022 FX HO plate.

I’m pretty sure there’s people running these skis at 85 mph using the riva ride plate. Not to mention all of the racers too.

I ran my ski over the weekend for the first time and had no hint of bounce. But that was at the stock speed of 68 mph. We will see what happens when I tune it

I also just had my 2023 FX in this past weekend for the first time, bone stock, broke in (was excruciating to not run it hard that first 90 minutes😂), no bounce at any speed
