2018 gp1800. Stage 2 tune. Lots of upgrades. 80hrs. When i start the ski up the rpms just jump up and down on their own. Above and below 4000 range. Anyone seen this before? I thought my throttle body was bad but i removed it/inspected and its fine, mechanically . Maybe the cable is sending mixed signals to open and close it? Air leak? Anyone have a suggestion please and thank you

Is this a salt water machine?
It is possible the electrically actuated throttle body is failing internally. Corrosion or just aging. Not common but it can happen
Do you have another machine that you can swap parts with for testing?
Have you unplugged and inspected each electrical connector? There are a number of connectors between the handlebar throttle control, the ECU, and the throttle body. Look for loose or damaged pins or wires, corrosion, moisture inside the connector👍 1 -

Ive cleaned all the connections and checked for corrosion. Butterfly valve is not loose nor is it freely opening as air draws in from the suprchrgr. Im not sure how i can test the electric cable from the throttle body. I dont have spares but am ordering a new cable. Any idea if there might be something else that could cause this. Perhaps a sticking valve or anything else. I think its something to do with the throttle but just wondering if someone’s experienced this situation and if they found a solution. Never seen this happen and have searched for hours cant find anyone with a similar problem. Thanks againComment
