  • FX SVHO Hot water leak

since some weeks i get a lot very hot water in my hull, transom plate is resealed etc etc. i checked all cooling hoses with preassure and all exhaust parts except waterbox yet.... i pressured test the oil cooler and the intercooler both are without any leaks....

ski was today 3 hours on the buoy no water is comming inside and no water under the trailer so hull is ok and again the water is hot so i checked also the cooling plate under the exhaust everything good here as well as the anode fitting, which is in my case replaced by the cooling fitting since 3 years no leaks here also. i have no more ideas anymore maybe someone of you ???

after around 30 minutes of riding i would say about 3-5 gallon water in the hull and its gets more as last time riding. i cant use the ski no until i found it.

next what is crazy on my maptuner via monitoring i see engine temp 210 F but no beep warnings at all.... maybe this is something togehter

    thanks

id put it on a trailer and connect a hose- see if you are getting good flow from the thermostat exit at the pump also 3-5 gallons you should see something leaking while it's flushing

No on the hose at idle I was not able to see anything I checked already. No water in the oil and no oil water in the hull just hot water so I hope no crack in the head.

On-the-hose will not pressurize the coolant system as much as riding does. Same goes for exhaust pressures.
Might consider mounting a go-pro inside the hull, or test-ride "seatless" while you or your friend looks inside the hull.

Back the trailer into the water and bring the engine up to operating temp. Run it up to 4500 RPM and look for leaks, particularly at the exhaust manifold where it meets the head, and also where both sections of the manifold meet up with one another, there's a gasket there that can leak.

i checkt the exhaust and installed again i didnt split the exhaust yet BUT we checked today and i rode like 10 minutes and the in the hull water is cold so it was warm because last time i rode like 45 minutes so it heated up a bit...so no leaks to see with my endoscope camera at all nothing, ski was on the trailer and at 5.000 rpm backed up in the water , so my idea is that it maybe leaks through the intake grate or ride plate bracket.... did u see something in the past on those skis ???? thanks

Have you removed and re sealed your transom plate? if not I'm certain this is your problem.

                  - transom plate is resealt one year ago
                  - again water is not hot it became hot as the oil pan heats it up, when i ride like 10 minutes the water is cold

midshaft leaking was the point i think of today i will check on next monday.

again no hose is leaking i pressure test them all there all ok oil cooler and intercooler as well, all fittings are good

maybe the hull is broken some how but i filled up the hull with water in the garage and i saw no water next day under the trailer so i think its ok and i cant see any cracks

trailer in the water with 5.000 rpm i saw nothing leaking or splashing and when the ski is at the bouy no water comes inside only while riding....

what else would be here the problem???

today i had the ski on an car lift to search for cracks in the hull...nothing scratches yes but no cracks

so i have no idea anymore i cant use the ski anymore because of so much water in so little time comes into the hull and nobody does have an idea what else could be the problem here....

                        Ok shadetree test run time...
It will be kinda a pain in the ass but anything that gets an answer..
What we need to do is put a "tow valve" on the water inlet hose from the pump..
You can cheat and just use some needle nose vise grip pliers and pinch the water line between the pump wall and the "x" water splitter(will be easier to put on if you pull off the black plastic resonator exhaust boxes) clamp the pliers on to cut off water and reinstall plastic exhaust crap ..-- you will be able to reach underneath the exhaust boxes and pop off the pliers when you need to but putting them on with the exhaust crap installed will drive you nuts..
Now launch ski but do NOT take it off trailer..
Startup ski and wait 3 seconds then hit the throttle hard for 5 seconds twice and shut it off..
Look for any water-- If NO water reach underneath and pop off pliers..
Now start it up again and wait for water from all the pissers and hit the gas hard for 5 seconds twice then shut it off.
                        Look for water ...............
This (hopefully) will help determine what system is leaking (Hull or water lines)
                        Good Luck

hello and thank you i will do so and test like in your post

i did the following last 4 weeks

                          - reseal transom plate and steering cable last year

                          - check every singe hose clamp, and hoses via pressure test

                          - removed exhaust system check gaskets and check for cracks in the plastic parts or header

                          - pressure test the intercooler, the oil cooler and the water cooled voltage regulator

                          - put the ski on an car lift to check for cracks in the hull

                          - fill the hull up with water and let it sit over night no water on the floor

                          - removed the rideplate brackets and the ride motor and sealed that again

                          - removed intake grate and checkt for cracks and sealed here from the bottom around the screws

                          - midshaft bearing
