  • Yamaha FXSVHO MAP sensor tube broken HELP!

Hi, just fitted a worx BOV to my '19 FX. When i was trying to remove the MAP sensor vacuum hose, the plastic nipple broke off the manifold. Is there any way i can drill/tap/fix this without removing the whole intake system?

First, never ever tee off of the MAP sensor hose to operate a BOV. Always drill and tap the manifold, or use the WORX or Riva adapter. The BOV needs it's own boost reference source. The grease will catch the metal shavings. Hold a shop vac by the drill bit as you drill it.

Use some grease on a drill bit and tap and drill and tap that out for a brass barbed fitting to repair it. Do the same for your boost reference source for your BOV.

Removing the plastic intake manifold from the SVHO engine is not particularly difficult, just takes some time.

I have posted a lengthy thread describing how to remove the intake manifold from the SVHO Yamaha engine. The thread was originally written for the cast aluminum metal intake manifold but the process is very similar for the plastic SVHO intake manifold. For some reason I cannot find it this morning using search

Once removed, it is straightforward to drill and tap the plastic intake manifold. You might consider removing the ribbon disc flame arrestor while the manifold is off the engine. GH store sells a Riva kit to drill out the retention flange that holds the ribbon disc in place. I may have also posted a thread about that process. Search is not being helpful for me this morning :/

Thanks, can i drill in the same spot as the original nipple? I've used a hot drill bit to melt the hole bigger in the hope of ABS glueing in another fitting or 2 in this manifold. The worx kit only came with the T fitting so i assumed it would work with that.

Starting to regret doing this BOV thing. There's 2 fittings done off the manifold now, one for MAP and one for BOV. Started it up and BOV is not popping off and no info on how to fix it on the web. There's very happy owners who have fitted these with the T fitting so i'm wondering what's my issue

WORX is not a popular choice for a BOV. Use either the Fizzle with TiAL, or Turbosmart 50mm BOV's as they are properly sized for our ski.
Again, NEVER EVER tee off the Map Sensor hose for a BOV as when the BOV is actuating it throws off the MAP signal to the ECU and makes fueling go haywire as a result.
