2001 LS 2000 no spark

Boat was running good, been out twice this year however third time the left (pass) engine now has no spark. Dos does crank different than the right one but ran fine. Installed a new CDI but did not help where do ai go from there?? Thanks

It's a lot cheaper to troubleshoot a problem than to randomly replace parts.

Check that the black & white wires are isolated from each other. Also, the kill switch under the rear hatch may be out of adjustment. Have a helper hold the button down while you try to start it.

also, won't the Yamahas crank with no spark if the fuse on the red wire is blown?

Ok checked all that got a dead cylinder the rear one 0 psi 120 middle 120 front. If the timing is off will it have spark?? Looks like I'm pulling the engine hopefully not too hard to do

Ugh! You'll probably find a creased fuel pump check disc in that carb. Must do balanced return mod on these.

Don't know how the timing would get off.

The engine will crank on the LS 2000 if the lanyard is removed, but no spark. I don't think it will crank if the fuse is burned out, but I don't know for sure.

How difficult is it to pull the engine on one of these boats? Shop manual not very detailed. Have done a few sea doo jet skis. Thanks

I've done them on an Ls2000 before. Do yourself a favor and pull the engine hatch completely off. Use towels or something to protect the hull edges. Rebuild both mid shafts while you're at it.

Ok will do on the mid shafts and completely remove hatch. Does the jet pump have to be removed to get engine out? Like I said they don't give you much info

No, you can remove the engines without touching the pumps.
