We need more moderates in government, and instead all we are getting are the extremes.

Naahh; moderates never get anything accomplished in government, except maybe produce more government.
Moderates make "perfect politicians," but not great leaders; they lack vision and sit in the middle, perpetuating "moderate" leadership which is really called sticking your finger in the wind and seeing which way the wind is blowing, and making calculated moves based on getting your worthless azz re-elected. The time for that BS is over; we are over 15 TRILLION IN DEBT; our credit rating has been cut and debt is now exceeding 100% of the nation's Gross Domestic Product. We've had enough of "moderates" in America; this is one of the reasons we are still seeing runaway spending, massively expanding government, states going broke and opening their jails, 40% reduction in family wealth, public sector unions, green legislation, illegal immigration, plummeting home values and all the other crap that keeps rolling like a juggernaut that is killing the nation.

This is the eleventh hour for liberty. Obama is not a "moderate," he's a radical, who thumbs his nose at our system and refuses to enforce the Federal laws on the books; last week he just announced he won't deport young illegals anymore, even though that's a Federal law and he knows the U.S. unemployment rate for our own young people is now a staggering 25 PERCENT. If the Kenyan wins re-election, and his budget projections become reality, the National Debt will top $20 trillion in 2016; that would mean the Debt increased by 87 percent, or $9.34 trillion, during his two terms. This is not "moderate," and "moderates" won't stop it. He's a radical Marxist, just like his daddy. Like other communists before him, his new slogan is "Forward," but we need to stop, turn round and go back, before we go over the cliff. We need radical Americans to kick the communists out of our government and cure this cancer, not another @#%& "moderate." Well, that's the way I see it, anyway.

Moderation sounds nice, "reaching across the aisle" and such but to be a moderate, one has to compromise, no? The question is "compromise what?". Some things, which weekend to hold the bake sale, fine, compromise. Others? - and most things in government are in the catagory of "other", simply mean a compromise of morals.
Start with "should we take that guy's stuff and give to that guy over there?" A moderate might submit "just some of his stuff".
How about "should we encourage abortion as a form of birth control?" A moderate might answer "That doesn't sound right - Let's not raise the federal spending that encourages and pays for this."
A moderate says "rehabilitate the child rapist" and trades a vote for pushing alternate lifestyles in grade school for his new bike paths that will get him reelected.

Moderates give 10 year olds burdensome permitting processes to keep them from having lemonade stands (the ultimate goal is to teach them that business is bad or, at least, not teach them business).
A moderate forgets that all of America but Barack Obama wanted Bush to kick ass after 9-11, and that he did. Government spending went up a lot during that time and a moderate will nod "yes" when a leftist says things like "Bush started the spending spree". Well, he did give free medicine to medicaid at our expense and wasn't very strong on battling the left on housing for people who couldn't afford houses. (THAT was something a moderate does. IN FACT, Bush was a moderate on everything but his hawkishness on Iraq. How do you like that?)
A moderate says "give Obama a chance" when we should have been fighting this "Carter on steroids" all along, every step of the way.
Government's job is not "to provide the most good for its subjects", "keep spending down" or anything along those lines. Governments job is to provide for security PERIOD. That means, police and military, as far as I'm concerned. How is it that Corrine Brown and Nancy Pelosi supposedly know more about what my child needs in school than I do? How does Mayor Bloomberg know that 15oz. of soda are okay but 16oz. should be illegal? Why are we putting people in office that are telling us WE CANNOT buy fries cooked in fat and have salt on them? These are moderates and these are the things moderates do.
A conservative takes care of family , security, his neighbors and his work. Why, to some, is that not ALWAYS good? What is being compromised to reach that conclusion? Thare is a distaste in some to the far religious right. I think some of them are kooky, too. But religion is a positive thing - without it, we are amoral, without morals. What else? Hawkishness? Barack Obama is as left as you get. He is "Stalin" left. He is "Mao" left (How many millions of their own did they kill?). He kills by sending drones with missiles but also kills our own marines by sending them up in decrepit helicopters and without contengency plans because he votes to save money on defense. Now he is using drones for surveilance on American soil. Don't get me wrong. I like the killing. I say there are too many people on Earth and I'd rather it were them than ours dying. With their attitude brought on by jealously and hopelessness brought on by their religion, they are not going to stop. Ever. Drone away, Obama but DON'T short our military in any way because your predecessors had the foresight to deliver your sorry ass the technology to use. He is no hero, Obama, because he does this. He simply does not adhere to his leftist convictions on the Afghanistan issue. He kills Taliban because it is politically expediant - not because it is the right thing to do. (Think a minute about killing for personal political gain and not for security of our country and you will see the depth of this guy's evil. Combine that with ineptitude and...). If Bush had kicked ass there, he would have been against it and attacked Iraq with Facebook, then drones when Facebook didn't work. Obama is the lowest form of life that wears clothes... definately below a moderate but in that same direction. He's just in the fast lane!
All of that being said, I understand why some people say that they vote on issues, not party. There are some scum in the Republican party, too, by golly! At least those guys don't have a core political platform that is immoral.

Don't forget where the $ for that discount came from... taxpayers pockets! Some things are more important than money- GM could give me discounts all day long and I would still pay more $ to own a car that was made by a company who played by the rules.

You might have received the discount all your life... but since the bailout- it comes largely at the expense of the taxpayer, as do many of the actions taken by GM as a company. Before the bailout- they could do what they wanted with their own $... now the story is a little different.

Ford didn't take any $ from the govt. I hate on Chrysler too, but not as much cause they didn't get as much $.

Ford asked for money, too, then when it became apparent that they were going to be made be-atches to Barney Frank, et al., they declined. Feel good about buying a Ford. Chrysler was a much smaller deal than GM, but it sucks, too, and it is now owned by Fiat. Yes, our government spent our tax dollars to make a healthy subsidiary for an Italian car company. So healthy, in fact, some Chrysler production and sales are being replaced by Italian made Fiats in America - THANKS, OBAMA. Thanks so much for saving those jobs... in Italy.
GM employs only about 200,000 workers, BTW. fewer than a good quarter of economic recovery - which we havn't had yet with Obama at the wheel, which we had in the first quarter of Reagan's second year after having inherited similar circumstances from Carter. We have real unemployment of something over sixteen percent and close to fifty percent of young blacks. These kids have not much left but to collect welfare, deal drugs and steal. Their dignity and futures have been abducted from them in exchange for their votes. The very policies put in place to make them happy and garner their vote have enslaved them. Shame on liberal policies. Shame on your president.

Come on....you can't be that naive.............And according to both of these groups, one side is 100 percent right and the other is 100 percent wrong. Republicans have some good ideas,and so do democrats. Remember, the best deals are when nobody is truly happy, that means everyone gave up something to make a deal happen. Bryan, it doesn't make you a bad person. I do believe it means that you are naive to believe that we can salvage anything by working with leftists. We need to defeat them and put a responsible, ADULT, government in place. That means voting largely everyone out - anyone who has ever brought home stuff for their district that wasn't necessary or voted for something he didn't think was good for the country in exchange for a vote on something else. WE CAN'T AFFORD IT. Let me word it a different way: We are spending the lifetime wages of children who havn't yet been born. Were I them and know what I know, I'd come out shooting!
