Republican Campaign Aide Murdered in Minneapolis — Staffer for Lacy Johnson Who Is Running Against Ilhan Omar Shot Dead in Drive-By Shooting

On Monday two Lacy Johnson aides were shot standing outside a convenience store when one or more shooters opened fire. It was a drive-by shooting. The 17-year-old staffer later died at the hospital.


The 17-year-old outreach coordinator for Lacy’s campaign, Andre Conley, was killed Monday outside a gas station in north Minneapolis.

The 17-year-old boy killed and another man hurt Monday in a north Minneapolis shooting were members of a Republican congressional candidate’s campaign.


The Lacy Johnson campaign says the two victims were members of the outreach team and were not performing campaign duties when the shooting occurred Monday afternoon at the intersection of North Fremont and Dowling avenues.



According to the Lacy Johnson campaign and Minneapolis police, the shooting is not believed to be a politically motivated attack.


Minneapolis police say a group of people were standing outside of a Super USA convenience store when one or more shooters opened fire. The teenager and the man were hit, and emergency crews brought them to Hennepin Healthcare for treatment. The teenager was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.


Investigators are still searching for the shooters, who fled the scene on foot. The man who survived was listed in serious but stable condition…


…Minneapolis has experienced a surge in gun violence this summer.

Fox News Panel Melts Down After Gingrich Exposes George Soros As Financier Of BLM/Antifa Riots


So-called conservative channel not interested in discussing who is funding the violence across America



Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich was silenced during an interview on Fox News Wednesday, where he called out billionaire George Soros deep involvement with the Black Lives Matter/Antifa riots engulfing the nation.



In the awkward interview, Gingrich was explaining how Soros-backed officials were facilitating the far-left riots inflicted upon America’s businesses and communities.


“The number one problem in almost all these cities is George Soros-elected left-wing anti-police pro-criminal district attorneys who refuse to keep people locked up,” Gingrich said.


“Progressive district attorneys are anti-police, pro-criminal and overwhelmingly elected with George Soros’ money and they’re a major cause of the violence we’re seeing because they keep putting the violent criminals back on the streets.”

“I’m not sure we need to bring George Soros into this,” said contributor Melissa Francis.


Gingrich, looking puzzled by the remark said: “He paid for it. He paid for it. I mean, why can’t we discuss the fact that millions of dollars he spent elected these people?”



“I agree with Melissa, Soros doesn’t need to be part of this conversation,” interrupted Fox’s liberal contributor Marie Harf.


“Okay…so it’s verboten,” Gingrich replied after an awkward moment of silence

The segment went on for another awkward silent moment before host Harris Faulkner cut to break.


This particular incident was so awkward and strange it propelled “Soros” to Twitter’s trending list.


Fox News has defended Soros’ activities before.


In 2018, Fox Business dropped Judicial Watch head Chris Farrell for calling out Soros’ involvement in funding the massive caravans of illegal migrants storming the U.S. southern border.

Oregon authorities battle conspiracy theories as firefighters fight the flames



(CNN) -- Wildfires are raging along the West Coast, and with them authorities in Oregon said they are fighting rumors of political origins.


Multiple fires in Washington, Oregon and California have destroyed more than 4.7 million acres and killed at least 34 people.



Law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, have been batting down conspiracy theories that Antifa extremists are setting fires and cutting down power lines, Clackamas County, Oregon, Sheriff Craig Roberts said Wednesday.




"Each and every tip that comes in, we're following that to the end," Roberts said, but investigators typically find that the tipsters' information came "from a friend of a friend" who has no evidence. In one case, Roberts said a group reported to be stashing gasoline cans in the forest to start fires was actually "Good Samaritans" helping move fuel for emergency workers.


There are legitimate concerns around the fires, Roberts said. Fifteen people have been arrested in connection with looting in evacuation zones -- none with extremist ties, he said.. He also reiterated that it is illegal for individuals to set up their own armed checkpoints.


"We do not want armed citizens inappropriately stopping people," he said.


Governor says fires are a sign of climate change



The fires come on the heels of California's hottest August in state history, and Gov. Gavin Newsom said Wednesday that climate change is to blame.


"The fundamental facts cannot be denied," Newsom said. "The trendlines are not going in the right direction."


The governor's comments come just two days after President Donald Trump refused to acknowledge the effects the climate crisis is having on the state's forest fires during a visit to California, where he joined Newsom on a tour of a wildfire-ravaged area.


Newsom said Wednesday that he "directly confronted the president" on climate change -- though a video of the press briefing from earlier this week shows a gentler exchange between leaders.


"I think there's a way of approaching people and good people can disagree," Newsom said. "And I maintain we are making progress and to the extent we are being heard, I believe we are."


However, he said that he does not expect Trump to "radically change course."


"I will continue to be stubborn as I imagine he will be as well, it's not a belief system, it's data," he said. "Science. You have to acknowledge facts."
California 'ripe for wildfires'





The August Complex Fire is the largest in California's history, having consumed more than 817,000 acres, and continues to burn. And with a warming trend returning over the weekend, authorities said it is likely not going anywhere soon.


"With no significant precipitation in sight, California remains dry and ripe for wildfires," said Cal Fire.


The state saw the impact of recent drought last month when an extreme heat wave sparked a rash of fires. The 136 million trees that didn't survive that lack of rainfall acted as "kindling" Newsom said.


In this round of flames, thousands of buildings have been destroyed. One of those was Brian Merzoian's dream home.


"It's devastating," he told CNN affiliate KFSN. "You just realize your place is literally reduced to ash and everything that was in it, there's really nothing recognizable. I could see the woodstove survived, but that's about it."


But in Northern California, smoke conditions and visibility are improving, according to the Bay Area office of the National Weather Service.


"There's still smoke in parts of northern and interior #California but parts of the #SanFrancisco area are FINALLY seeing blue skies - and it is not being taken for granted," the office tweeted.


School resumes as Oregon fight continues



Oregon is also seeing bits of returning to normalcy with schools starting in the capital Salem after fire delays, according to CNN affiliate KPTV.



The wildfires have made "everything a little rockier" for the district that is going into online instruction because of the coronavirus pandemic, Salem-Keizer Public Schools Superintendent Christy Perry said.


The school district has about 41,000 students. Perry told KPTV that students' lives were mostly affected by the smoke. Some staff members were forced to evacuate, she said.


"I told my advisory kids this a few times today, like it will all be fine," teacher Macy Bowser said. "It's all going to work its way out."


But until then, fire officials are working relentlessly to contain the 26 blazes in Oregon.



In The Dalles, Oregon, crews collapsed with exhaustion onto the ground after a 14-hour day fighting the Lionshead Fire. They mustered the energy to sing together a parody of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" using firefighting terms for the lyrics, said crew boss Theodore Hiner.

San Francisco Mayor London Breed Will Give Black Women $1,000 a Month if They Get Pregnant


Partially taxpayer-funded program provides ÔÇ£an unconditional monthly income supplement of $1,000ÔÇØ to black and Pacific Island women



On Monday, the San Francisco mayor's office announced the launch of a government program called the ÔÇ£Abundant Birth Project,ÔÇØ which will give $1,000 per month cash payouts to black ÔÇ£and Pacific Islander womenÔÇØ for becoming pregnant and having children.



The mayor's office stated in a press release that ÔÇ£the pilot will provide an unconditional monthly income supplement of $1,000 to approximately 150 Black and Pacific Islander women in San Francisco for the duration of their pregnancy and for the first six months of their baby's life, with a goal of eventually providing a supplement for up to two years post-pregnancy.ÔÇØ


ÔÇ£Providing guaranteed income support to mothers during pregnancy is an innovative and equitable approach that will ease some of the financial stress that all too often keeps women from being able to put their health first,ÔÇØ Mayor Breed said.



Dr. Zea Malawa of the San Francisco Department of Public Health echoed this sentiment, claiming, ÔÇ£Providing direct, unconditional cash aid is a restorative step that not only demonstrates trust in women to make the right choices for themselves and their families, but could also decrease the underlying stress of financial insecurity that may be contributing to the high rates of premature birth in these communities.

It is exciting to be in a city that not only calls out racism as a problem, but also takes steps to heal the wounds left by decades of injustice and anti-Black sentiment.ÔÇØ


Neither woman provided further explanation as to how not receiving $1,000 a month in free taxpayer cash increases rates of premature birth.


The press release went on to mention various critical race theory talking points such as ÔÇ£structural racismÔÇØ and ÔÇ£racial justice,ÔÇØ ÔÇ£racial equity,ÔÇØ and a ÔÇ£racial wealth gap.ÔÇØ


Among the funders of the pregnancy payoff public-private partnership are Jack Dorsey's StartSmall foundation, Expecting Justice, and the Helmman Foundation.

Democrat Michigan Secretary of State Misprints Trump Ticket on Ballots for Troops

The Michigan secretary of state misprinted the Trump line on ballots intended to be mailed to troops serving overseas, the Detroit News reported.


Jocelyn Benson, who has endorsed President Trump’s rival, Joe Biden, and spoke at the recent Democratic National Convention (DNC), made the apparent error. The ballot listed Jeremy Cohen as Trump’s running mate. Cohen is running for vice president on the libertarian ticket with Jo Jorgensen.


The name of the incumbent vice president, Mike Pence, was omitted altogether. Jorgensen’s line lacked a running mate, thus creating three errors on the ballot.


Over 400 incorrect ballots were downloaded from the secretary’s website by local clerks to be sent to voters. It is not clear how many were actually mailed.


The ballots were “meant to be mailed or emailed to Michigan residents living abroad under the Military and Overseas Empowerment (MOVE) Act,” the paper reported.


“Replacement” ballots will be issued to those who may have been mailed incorrect ones, according to the secretary of state’s office.


“If a voter does happen to return the incorrect ballot instead of the correct ballot, it will still count,” Benson spokeswoman Tracy Wimmer said.


“The clerk will be instructed to duplicate a vote for Trump onto a ballot for Trump/Pence.”


The secretary of state has endorsed Biden for president.


During the DNC, Benson pushed voting by mail.


“And let’s be clear: there is absolutely zero difference between voting by mail and voting absentee. Millions of Americans have been voting absentee for decades. Donald Trump, his family, his staff — they all vote by mail. In fact, in states like Colorado, Utah, and Oregon voters have been voting by mail for years. Republicans and Democrats agree: it is safe,” she said, according to ABC News.


In 2018, Biden endorsed Benson to be secretary of state.


“Jocelyn is a leader who will make Michigan proud and that is why I am supporting her,” he said.

'Defund Police' Backfires as Minneapolis City Council Begs for Cops After Crime Spikes



For the past several months, the Minneapolis City Council has been working to defund and even abolish the city’s police department
After a recent surge in violent crime, some council members appear to have realized they need the police force.


During a two-hour city council meeting on police reform Tuesday, council members relayed their worries to Minneapolis Police Department Chief Medaria Arradondo.



Among the council members’ primary concerns was the fact that many of their constituents are seeing dangerous crimes — like carjackings, street racing, robberies, assaults and shootings — become more prevalent.


“Residents are asking, ‘Where are the police?'” asked newly elected council member Jamal Osman, a member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party.


“That is the only public safety option they have at the moment. MPD. They rely on MPD. And they are saying they are nowhere to be seen.”


The number of people who have been killed in Minneapolis so far in 2020 is higher than the number killed in all of 2019, MPR News reported, citing police data.



“Just months after leading an effort that would have defunded the police department, City Council members at Tuesday’s work session pushed chief Medaria Arradondo to tell them how the department is responding to the violence,” according to the outlet.


Arradondo pointed out to the council members that the Minneapolis police force is facing staffing issues.


The chief said about 100 officers have left the department or taken leave since the beginning of 2020, more than double the usual number.
The hypocrisy on the part of the city council in this case is staggering.


According to many of these very same council members only a few short months ago, defunding the police was the proper solution to Minneapolis’ problems.


In a June interview with CNN’s Alisyn Camerota, Minneapolis City Council President Lisa Bender defended the council’s proposal to dismantle the police by asserting that societal expectations of police protection come from a place of “privilege.”


“Do you understand that the word ‘dismantle’ or ‘police-free’ also makes some people nervous, for instance?” Camerota asked. “What if, in the middle of the night, my home is broken into? Who do I call?”


Bender’s response was nothing short of utterly ridiculous.


“I mean, I hear that loud and clear from a lot of my neighbors — and myself, too — and I know that that comes from a place of privilege,” Bender said.


“Because for those of us for whom the system is working, I think we need to step back and imagine what it would feel like to already live in that reality where calling the police may mean more harm is done.”

Bail Fund Promoted By Kamala Harris To This Day Helped Bail Out A Man Accused Of Penetrating An 8 Year-Old Child…

MINNEAPOLIS — A bail fund promoted by Sen. Kamala Harris helped a man accused of sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl get out of jail in July, according to court documents obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.


The Minnesota Freedom Fund (MFF) also helped post bail in August for a man accused of assaulting a 71-year-old woman as he burglarized her home, court documents show. One week after his release the man was found to be in violation of his bail. The
Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office told the DCNF on Wednesday there is still an active felony warrant out for that man’s arrest.


Court documents reviewed by the DCNF reveal that the bail fund also provided support in June to a man who allegedly stomped on and robbed a victim on the streets of Minneapolis on May 25, the same day George Floyd died while in police custody.

60-Year-Old Black Man Arrested for Murdering White 19-Year-Old UC Berkeley Student Without Any ‘Warning or Provocation’





A 60-year-old black man has been arrested for the murder of a 19-year-old UC Berkeley student.



On Monday, the Alameda County district attorney’s office filed felony charges against Berkeley resident Tony Walker for the June murder of UC Berkeley student Seth Smith.


According to authorities, Smith was walkining in southwest Berkeley when Walker approached him from behind and shot him at close range in the back of the head. Berkleyside reports that law enforcement has said the random killing was done without any warning or provocation.


“On Monday, the DA’s office charged Walker with murder and several other felony firearms violations, according to court records reviewed by Berkeleyside. Walker, a felon on probation who lived within a few hundred feet of where the homicide happened, at Dwight Way and Valley Street, was prohibited from having guns or ammunition because of his criminal record,” Berkeleyside reports.



Walker’s criminal record spans decades and includes assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Smith was pronounced dead at the the scene.


“My son never felt like there was anywhere in Berkeley that was unsafe to walk,” his mother, Michelle Rode-Smith, told Berkeleyside on Monday.
