I don't know what's going on, but this is the third forum website that I participate in that have been revamped in the last few months. I can't see any improvement in the others, and the jury is still out on this site.

That said, a questions and a comment:

What are the blue or gray symbols next to the Sub-Forums in the Forums Directory? They look like a dialog box or something. There is a gray one in the SeaDoo/Scarab section where there are no posts, but there are also some in the Kawasaki sections that have thousands of posts.

Posting the number of Topics and Posts for each Sub-Forum only clutters up the page. Get rid of it. It would be much better to go back to the old way of giving the date of the last post in that Sub-Forum.

I'm pretty sure they just got it up and running with the default theme basically and customizations are still to come.

Hi guys, thanks for your input. The forum has only been up and running on the new software since Friday. It was running on antique software with no support and was buggy. This updated version is light years better! Hence the reason this forum, and many others have been updated. Change is good!

There will be lots of fine tuning and tweaks to follow. Thank you for your patience.

Change is good!! If it wasn't for change we would all still be racing each other in row boats!! Thanks for all you and your family do. I sure did miss you while you were gone and I will learn to live with the changes! I'm just happy you are back up! Thanks again for all you do!!!!

Are signatures going to be coming back?

Another problem, when you open a thread, it goes to the first page, rather than the last page.

Those signify if there is unread posts or not. When they can get to it, it would be nice to add the "Mark all posts read" as an option. This will turn everything grey and then only subforums with new posts will show as blue.

There are literally hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of options for them to configure, but having done it, it takes time. Each time it needs to be tested to make sure it doesn't cause other issues. From the outside it's easy to think things were easier before ,but give it some time and it will become the new normal and I am sure the team will make updates as they can. It's an iterative process, we all need to have a bit of patience.

New site looks nice- however it has totally broken links from google searches, now instead of linking to the thread it just redirects to the main page. I know this might not be something you guys can fix, but would appreciate if you could look into it- a lot of people, myself included, found ourselves here from a google search answer to a question we had.

It will take several days for google to crawl the new site and connect links.

Another problem, when you open a thread, it goes to the first page, rather than the last page.

As it should. If you are clicking on a thread for the first time you want to go to the first post, not the last page.
If you are already familiar with a thread and just want to catch up on recent posts click this little icon

Are signatures going to be coming back?

Thanks to this new wonderful software, signatures are now something you can choose to see, or not see.
Go to your user control panel by clicking "my profile"
Then click "edit settings"
Then click "account"
Scroll down to "conversation detail options" and click "show signatures" and "show avatars" if you want to see those.
Then click "save changes" at the bottom.

Click on the little green circle next to the title and it will take you to the last unread post in the thread. The green arrows next to the time when it was posted will take you to the last post in the thread, even bypassing previously unread posts.
