Which way do you consider to be ‘backwards’?

Myself I prefer the most recent posts to always be at the top.

Chronological order starting with the oldest post first would be standard ordering.

Newest post first would be reverse or "backwards" to me.

Geologists would view things the opposite though lol

The older I get, the more I find myself fixing things that I knew I was doing correctly at the time.

You need to click on the little icon (small green circle with down arrows) right next to the title and not the title itself.

We need a 'how to' section to cover all these changes to the website.

When I look at the index, or whatever it is, it shows green topics all over, which I would think are unread messages. When I click on them, I've read all of them.

Sweet, thanks. Lots of new stuff, I just overlooked that.

Steve - I tried to write you a message, but unsure how I get it to you. The forum is set up a little different than most for PMing members...
Nothing important, just some thoughts on some skis. my e-mail is [email protected] if your willing

I am a "new" member, but a LONG TIME reader..... I don't have access to Messages yet? Maybe a minimum post thing or need to be verified?

Definitely could use a button at the top to jump to the last post on the last page. I keep having to open a thread, scroll to the bottom and click the last page number available.

Here is an idea from another forum I visit, clicking this "Jump to Latest" takes me to the last page and last post, very very convenient and I use it every time I visit.

                  Well, just about everything I use has the newest stuff at the top;
Email inbox, social media and messaging apps, and web forums

The top is also where the status and controls are often located. Menus, drop downs, titles, and so on

For me the top half of the screen is where the interesting stuff happens. The newest stuff is on top.

On my iPhone the bottom area of the screen is less readable (farther from line of sight) than the upper half. And the bottom gets covered by the keyboard when typing.

Right now for me the GH forum is kinda weird in terms of where the most recent thing is shown.
I have most recent at the top, but when I tap Reply the screen jumps to the very bottom of the thread.
I type my reply text (which of course jumps the window up because the keyboard appears).
Click Post and my reply appears at the bottom of the thread list, despite now being the newest thing in the thread.
Leave the thread and return, my post will now be shown be at the top (which is where it should be, given my settings preference)

Hozzie pointed out in one of the above posts that you can jump to recent from the thread index or search results by clicking the green double arrows near the thread title.

K447 whatever floats your polaris lol, either way, the site should support both ways as that is a really basic functionality.

OK, I mark a channel as having been read, but it still comes up green, indicating that it hasn't been read.

Also, I get a notification that I have a new message, but no new message appears.

This is still occurring. Guess nobody else has the problem. I'm getting tired of opening a thread because it's marked as having new content, only to find that the latest post was 2 weeks ago.

Another suggestion, have an arrow that allows you to go to the last page, in addition to the next page.

Is the problem consistent across more than one browser, and more than one device?

I find that I am randomly logged out from time to time, despite having the Checkbox Remember me selected.

I just checked a different browser and the same problem shows up. I mark the threads as having been read, and sometimes the green indicator goes away, today it won't. If it does go away, it will come back in a few days. Open the thread and the newest post is days or weeks old.

I know that. Most of the other websites I view take you to the last page read automatically, so I forget to look for the arrow. Why not put the list of pages at the top instead of at the bottom?
