    It’s a small step that likely won’t deliver in any measurable top end speed gains but will – over time – result in better engine efficiency and longevity.
    I shall submit that redirecting the air inlet tubes would not extend engine longevity. Nor engine efficiency, whatever is meant by that.

    Immeasurable top speed gains - hopefully there is some other reason for doing this modification.

    What the article does not mention is why those tubes are there at all, from the factory. And why the open ends of the tubes are factory located very low in the hull.

    Those ventilation tubes are not
    … just trying to cool the entire engine compartment …
