    This is why you and any passengers need to practice reboarding in deep water.

    Solid advice. I've given that to new ski owners more times then I can count. Sold a helluva lot of boarding steps as a result. Some skis are tricky to board with two people in open water. It can literally be a life saver. Great idea to practice in five feet of water by only using your upper body and not your feet. Don't jump off in deep water to see if you can actually do it.
