  • Import/Export (US to Australia) Tips

Hello, Im in the process of selling my prized F15X. Im already getting inquiries out exporting it to Australia. Well this does make sense and I halfway expected it given that the Honda line is better appreciated "down under". However this raises some concerns for me given that I have never exported something of this magnitude. http://www.greenhulk.net/show....php?p=2032897

The reason for posting here is I was hoping I could get some help from people who may have been in a similar situation. Some tips on handeling the transaction and things to look out for would be great.

So your exporting the entire ski?......WOW if so.........i thought trying to organize an engine from the states was hard enough.....I know Urugol and 785 lugs do a lot of transactions with parts intercontinental so if you ask nicely they may be able to point you in the right direction

Yeah it seems like it would be quite a task.

I imported my Kawasaki Ultra 300x from the US to Aus. Very bad decisions choosing who i did to import it their name is, Baltons Muscle and Classic, DO NOT USE THEM!!! He constantly lied about the where abouts of my ski and would say its coming next week , then say no sorry 2 more weeks and then 3 weeks and it turned out to be an extra month. It should only have taken around 25 days but he delayed me for a full 2 months. The ski was here in Aus simply sitting in the port for a month because he was too lazy to go get it. It isn't to difficult task for a new ski but im not too sure with a used one, because quaratine and other tests wil have to be made i presume. So are you selling your ski to an aussie or whats happening?

New or used should not be much different. the biggest thing is use someone that knows what papers must be filled out and the wood in the crate must be treated. There are quite a few guys from Oz that have done it they should get with you. I have done it also and can help if you want. Pm or email

Also if your wanting to know how much it will be when ski gets here without insurance, warranty, rego. It will be around $3000 extra on top of ski purchase price (thats if ski is around $13000 in US), less if you get a cheaper ski. For me it was $16 500 when it got to aus.

I bring bikes and parts in using geezers classic garage on the gold coast, not the cheapest but easy process. They email u a pack with all information, and they ship weekly out of LA. They bring in lots of boats and skis so they are on the ball.

A used ski is more expensive to bring in but that is not a real common ski to be imported here second hand.

How much are you selling it for? I would be sceptical of that. It would be interesting to see how much your selling it for vs what they are going for here.
