Bimini Trip July 18-21

New group, first thread!

We have a trip booked to Bimini for July 18-21. We will be staying at Bimini Sands. As of right now there are 4 of us on 4 skis heading over. Creating this thread to see if anyone else/any other group would like to make the trip out with us. We will be using Crandon Park as our Marina and plan on staying in the area the night before we leave and the night we return. We have a little extra space left in our condo if someone would like to join us as well!

I'd love to do that trip one day. Are you taking a GTI 130 on it? How does it do (if you've taken one before)?

Yes, we are taking a 14 rxtx, a 15 gti 130, a 07 rxt and a 01 gtx. I've never taken the trip before, but the gti should have absolutely no issues with it at all.

When I did the trip a couple of years ago, one of the guys did fine on an old, beat up rental GTI 130. No problems at all. You can do eeeeeeeeeeeet!

I have a friend who bought a rental GTI 130 last year... it has over 600 hrs on it! runs perfect, no mechanical issues at all!

We were originally planning on going then, but I wanted to get it a little farther away from the holidays.

Are you staying in Miami the night before?

We are driving all night to Miami then launching when we get there. But our date has changed to June 24th-30th unless someone in the group tries to change it. Would love to get together with another group from here wile were there. PM me if anyone planning that week also. I don't get on here as much as I like and PM's go to my emails.

For anyone that has gone before and stayed the night before leaving and the night upon returning, any hotel recommendations? Mostly just concerned with trailer parking accommodations. Closer to Crandon Park the better.

Thanks for the info. I'm seeing a lot of hotels that are closer to Crandon Park that have parking lots big enough to fit truck/trailer...but most of them charge an arm and a leg to park.

Thats the same thing I came across with the closer hotels. The Ramada and others in the area I mentioned earlier or 100-130.00 per night. Figure it's worth the few extra miles to drive to the launch

Hey guys, I live up in Washington State and have always wanted to make the trip. It would be quite a haul for me to bring down my ski so I was wondering if rental companies let you take their skis to Bimini. Also, how much would it cost to rent the ski that long?
