Is this is response to the posting on NEPWC? I saw that also and was wondering the same thing. I have to go down to Brigantine soon to pick up my off-road beach pass so I can check it out on the way back home.

The only one I know nearby & have used is the one on Great Bay Blvd. That one is closer to LEH and you would have to go around the long way to get to Great Bay & the Mullica. I think you can cut through to Great Bay through Mystic Island but I think I was told that is a greenhead heavy zone. Have not verified that or tried it.

Partially, yes. I couldn't make sense of it, but know there are some. I know there's a private ramp right by the gas station by the Port Republic side of the Parkway bridge.

Regarding the Great Bay Blvd ramp, never used it but looking on maps it definitely looks like you can go through the swamp, but it looks idle/possibly illegal.

I don't believe there is any free ramps up the Mullica, Crowley's is at the end of the river and is open but you have to pay and the new ramp sucks, there's also River Road and ramp fee is 7 bucks and it's no good at low tide, there is a place called glass beach and you may be able to launch there but not to sure and there's the old oysters shack in New Gretna which is free and rite off the parkway at exit 48 and the best thing I've found for greenheads is skin so soft.

Most require a 4x4 to access, and local knowledge as to when to use them so you don't get stuck in the muck due to tides and thin channels. I suggest you stick with the main places like Chestnut Neck and Crowleys. They are safe to use and not that expensive..

it was nice to see Crowleys all fixed up when we came up last October. I make it a point to stop by the old places while I`m nearby.
sad to see carlos is gone. I`ll have to hit up Port republic, Smithville, Batsto, Barnegat next time Im up there...
Hope you all are doing well!

Yeah man, Carlos put up a fight but it was time to retire. Lots of other places just as good to eat at near Crowleys. Hit me up if you want some pointers on the best breakfast pizza ever..

yeah its great they redid crowleys. spent 3+ million to redo the ramp and its absolutely horrible. you can only use it mid tide or higher. there is a 6x6 at the bottom of the ramp which you hit before the bottom of your ski is even wet. it is noce and wide though and the ramp itself is nice but very easy to get stranded and not e able to get the ski back on the trailer. i personaly use sweetwater river deck ramp if im going in up river. thats brand new as well and very nice. steep but nice. thats what you need to be able to get in and out of the river at all tides though. that ramp is no problem even with a blowout low tide. if im going down river then i use chestnut neck. both ramps are about 10 bucks. crowleys is free until memorial day weekend. a season pass at crowleys is $60 BUT its good for all or most of the state ramps.

Thanks for the info on Sweetwater, I had heard it had re-opened but haven't been there yet. Didn't even know they had a ramp. How is the restaurant? Food good, crowded on Saturday's?

Very crowded on Summer Saturdays but mostly with Bikers. I actually didn't know they had a ramp and I live a minute down the street.... However the food is good and the beer is cold. Can't comment on the ramp though, sorry..

yes the place is crowded on saturdays only after about 1pm BUT the ramp is separate on the other side of the fence, away from the restaurant and bar and the ramp is kinda quiet. i used it every weekend all last season. 90% of the time i had no wait and the other 10% i waited no more than 5 min. i also live only a mile down the street and that ramp is the best kept secret.
