  • Cumberland Cordell Hull Dam

Put in today at Hunters Point RTE 231 and rode to Cordell Hull Dam. It was a nice day out a little cool but that sun was worth 20 degrees....Water was like glass and not much debris.
It gave me a chance to check a few things for colder weather riding. I also carried 2 extra fuel in 5 gal jugs that was different but worth it. The only thing today was "Mr Hoover aka NashVegas" jinxed me. Sent me a pic of the leaves getting caught in his grate.....Hell I stopped about 25 times today to wash leaves off the grate. I would be cruising and next thing you know Im losing speed. I would kill the engine at 10-15 mph and coast hoping that would work....but it wasnt really working. I would then turn around and go with current with reverse on and try going about 5 mph in reverse kill engine and pull the bucket up and it would wash right out. I would see a clump of leaves and chopped pieces float away.
Fire it up and continue on till I lost speed again. Some places you just could not avoid the leaves then you would be fine for 5-8 miles ...still better than sitting at home on the couch.
Quite few bass boats out but no ski's...lolClick image for larger version

Thats a good ride, we used to do a ride from Shutes Branch to Cordell Hull....Lock through the Dam and go to Defeated Creek eat a cheeseburger, refuel again and Lock back down....Its right around a 210- 215 mile ride mile....

        How is Harry doing?
I wish it was easier to lock through there.

Looks like it was a good ride. Hoping to change my grate and get back out there in the next week or so.

Those shoes work out good for you?

You had the seal skins on? If your feet was wet with those it was probably from sweat. I've had that happen.
