Paris Landing to Clifton via Tennessee River

I've done my first Tennessee river ride...finally.
Put in at Paris Landing State park. ....man was it busy...
Twra was out in full force. ..as I knew they would be. I never was pulled over but seen plenty that were....and some that needed to be.
This is a big river . Heading south was nice a little cool in the morning and calm water. Stopped in Perryville for gas and lunch. ..excellent burger. ..gas 3.69 a gallon, a dollar cheaper then Dale Hollow last weekend.
By the time I got to Perryville the traffic had picked way up and with the river narrowed down there. ..it was beating me up. Very hard to keep the cruise on at 41 mph with big chop.
Coming back it was really big chop and I was more in the air than the water. It was a nice trip though and somewhere new.

So, how was the hydrilla? We did a TN river trip 3 years ago and as we headed towards the Hampton Inn at Lake Guntersville, which is pretty far from where you were but we ran into tons of hydrilla. It clogged our intakes and overheated the skis. I had to get in the water to unclog the intakes. We were told the channel is clear because it is sprayed for river barges but if you wander off the channel to get gas...yikes!
Talk about swimming in a salad!!! Yuck!!

Regular thing as in riding the Tennessee river or just riding? I go out just about every weekend year round. I just cruise and tour.

Well I hate to say this but I put in at Mile marker 66.....Chattanooga is at mile marker 463......You better bring a lot of fuel ! and snacks....

I lived on Guntersville Lake in 2009, the north side was bad with the Hydrllia in the coves. Loved the lake though.

hope to be riding from Perryville/Beech River down towards Paris landing this summer. just bought two GTI 4 strokes and hope to put many hours on them this summer just riding.
