I've been riding in the Twin Cities since 1994 and at that time there was a club called the Jetsporters but it disbanded long ago. It was formed in the era when PWCs were very popular and the Minnesota legislature wanted to ban them from all lakes because of complaints from cabin owners (a simplified description of the situation). This had the effect of riders banding together to fight this discrimination and a club was formed.
My daughter and I ride the Mississippi/St. Croix just about every weekend and I still run into former members once in a while. With today's social media I would think a person could hook up with other riders through Facebook, etc.2018 GTR-X 230

Yeah I was also in the Jetsporters group during it's last couple years. I don't know of any other Minnesota groups currently. Some Midwest Polaris diehards, like me, we had an annual Midwest area ride for a number of years but that also died out as people just got to busy with life. I ride all over the Minnesota area but mainly on the lower Mississippi and St. Croix.Comment

Not too much recent action in this thread but I will see if we can start something. I bought my first ski last year and am looking for people to ride with. I have ridden motorcycles for years and enjoy riding in groups so figured same would be true for PWC. I live near downtown Minneapolis and have easy access to Mississippi pool 2 and above st Anthony falls and know both sections of river well from years of Boating. Has anyone ever ridden from the cities down to treasure island marina and stayed the night? Are there any organized rising groups? I know about the TC jet pilot facebook group but they seem mostly into old school and unique PWCs rather than riding, but maybe I will look into it more. Also, I am pretty handy doing simple maintenance on my sea doo so if anyone wants any help with something I may be willing to help.Comment

Welcome to GH! I live in Plymouth and my daughter and I ride the St. Croix or Lake Minnetonka just about every weekend. PWC riders are what I call the oddballs of the motorsports enthusiast world. The machines were very popular in the 90's and then the population of riders slowly decreased to the small numbers there are now. There are many reasons but that's just the way it is. I own 5 machines (3 in Minneapolis and 2 in Florida) and can't imagine every not riding but I'm an oddball.
As far as riding the Mississippi, the river is pretty much not navigable up stream of St. Anthony falls because of obstacles and when traveling south to Treasure Island Casino there are two locks (at the Ford plant site and Hastings). These can take a long time to get through if there is a lot of commercial traffic.2018 GTR-X 230

We have small group (4-6 jetskis) that like to go up and down on Mississippi and St Croix. From Anoka to Crow River and as far we can go (super fun, has to be done early in the season), from Bluffs to Hudson or Stillwater, or from Bluffs to Lake City. Feel free to PM me if you are interested, always fun with more people.Comment

Nice to hear there is some activity. I will let the water warm up a bit although I do have a wetsuit to get going earlier in the season. I got my supercharger rebuilt over the winter and got it installed last weekend. Hopefully everything went back together correctly!Comment
