  • X2 650 in DJSA Series?

A couple of questions for you DJSA guys.

How well can a modded 650 in an X2 be able to compete in the X2 Army series races when some riders are running 750s and 800s?

If any DJSA racers in Concord have some time to chat on the phone, give me a call. I wanna start racing but need to get some answers to a few things.

    Thanks,
    Dave

    welcome to the addiction!
Bring it out, give it a run! There have been a couple 650's that put the spank down on us running a 750 or more.
There are a couple racers living in your area as well as a pretty good shop in Antioch. THE SKI CLINIC is a sponsor of the series as well as mine and a few other racers in the DJSA.

        Thanks for the welcome karty.

I have a few questions in hopes that someone can answer.
I see that I need a kill switch/lanyard. Does anybody have a link on what to get?
Do you all use straight moto helmets or use some special helmet for water?
        Do you wear goggles?
Do you wear full wetsuits in the summer races?
Are shinguards, neckbraces and gloves optional?
Is the there a 40+ class in X2 or am I relegated to racing 20 year olds? lol
How long are your quals/heats and mains?

Thanks in advance for helping out.

Do you all use straight moto helmets or use some special helmet for water? <--- Moto helmets are perfect
Do you wear goggles? <--- Yes, but some don't. Eye protection is highly suggested
Do you wear full wetsuits in the summer races? <--- Some do, some dont.

How long are your quals/heats and mains? <--- IF we do Quals - 2 laps, Heats & Mains - 3-8 laps depending on day or conditions

Thanks in advance for helping out.

I'll be turning 49 in a couple of weeks. There is a gentleman that races with us, he'll be 74 this year. Very impressive and unbelievable.

Hey all. Are there any parameters for numbers on your ski, e.g. size, location, color, font?

                          AT LEAST 7" in height.
                          Side of ski.
Make sure someone can see it from 50' away.

Thanks for all the help guys.

I have a Jet Pilot full john wetsuit and jacket. What millimeter thickness do you guys use out in the Delta in late fall and early spring? 2/3mm or 3/4mm?

Can I race with a competition vest or do I need a full life vest?
