Pits / Camping / Site fees -
Beach Access is looking good but at the present moment there is more of it to the left of the flag dock than the right. For that reason the start line will be established to the right side of the dock. Camping on the spillway is available – as is a ton of real estate for beach pits. Please review the attached diagrams for available pitting and camping set ups – and please keep in mind for all 2013 djsa races every pit must now have at least one working fire extinguisher immediately accessible.
Camping will be allowed in the upper parking lot for this event only. Camping in the upper lot will be on a first come first served basis. I will be onsite early Friday with Stan and Rick to start setting up. I will appoint all upper camp slots as people arrive on Friday. Racers wanting to camp in the lower camp sites along the creek can call on site manager Rod for reservations. Attempting to get a whole lot of race rigs into limited space on the spillway is never an easy task, but with everyone’s cooperation we’ll be able to make it happen.
Please follow these instructions for all camping at this event.
1) If you want to camp in the lower creek side sites behind the store call Rod for reservations.
2) If you want to camp on the spillway – EMAIL ME with the type and length of your rig.
3) If you want to camp in the upper lot area – EMAIL ME with the type and length of your rig,
* Please note, the first 2 table area sites next to the launch ramp will not be available because the equipment trailer and Outlaw Caf?® will be positioned there.
Overnight camping is $20 a nite plus $5 per ski per day.
(racers running multiple classes pay for 1 ski)
Day use is $10 a day plus $5 per ski per day.
(racers running multiple classes pay for 1 ski)
Spectators / families / friends - $10 per veh per day.
Dogs are $5 per dog per day.
Pit Vehicles –
Pit vehicles are allowed only for launching, or transportation within the event area.
Operators must be 14 years of age, and speed at all times is restricted to 5 mph.
They are not for 4 wheeling trips on the adjacent property, and they are not to be operated recklessly. If you want to see this added benefit stay around for all those trips up to the store or the showers – please respect this privilege given to us.
Course –
* The course runs counter clockwise.
* Rubber Band Starts / Beach starts with holder or self held.
* Holders must have helmet, eye protection, pfd, and footwear – no exceptions.
* Standups and X2’s – engines running.
* Sport Sit runabouts – engines running.
* Sprint and SCXP sitdowns – dead engine lanyard in hand – racer at the back of the ski.
* Any racer using a cheater lanyard not attached to their person will be DQ’d and docked 50
series points. Repeated violations will result in suspension from the series. Please race like pros
and don’t put me in a bad position
* Split start leading into a left turn sweeper.
* Red buoys are Right turns
* Yellow buoys are Left turns
* The start is a red lane - yellow lane split.
* There is 1 additional side by side split.
* Blue buoys designate the start of a split.
* White buoys designate the end of a split back into a single lane.
Race smart and go around the buoys without hitting them – and avoid becoming a regular
member of the walk of shame club!
Start Positions ~
The “pre race - reg race for start positions is now in effect. Those who pre-enter get first line picks. Racers will choose start position on the line for heat-1 based on the order of pre-entries received, so start emailing me your complete entry forms and I’ll post the start rosters as they develop. (New racers will be placed on the line as to where it is safe for them to start)
Penalty Buoys –
The penalty “walk of shame” buoys will be in effect and must be taken at NO WAKE SPEED from the first one to the second one, and only then – can you re-enter the course at race speed if NO OTHER RACERS ARE WITHIN 100 Ft.
Standups take the walk at no wake speed kneeling in the tray.
Sitdowns take the walk at no wake speed – which means without making a wake!!
Please remember the 3 simple rules we have –
* The mandatory 1 ski length safe zone – lead ski has the right of way
* The 100 ft yield rule
* And no passing or scoring in a yellow flag corner.
The Team Orange safety team will be yielded to at all times whenever they are working a yellow flag incident. If you are unclear as to the safety rules we run, they are all outlined at www.diablojsa.com Knowing them in advance will keep you from being DQ’d in a race, and in a point series that’s not what you want to see happen. Call or email me if you are unclear about the rules.

If 4 or less skis in a class - points start at 2rd place value,
3 skis start at 3rd place value,
2 skis start at 4th place value.
Please remember at all times -
* One Ski length safe zone rule in effect at all times

I will have fuel pads available at the riders meeting and on the flag dock. Those not following this simple request will probably be asked to spectate the rest of the day…
Racing hard and racing fast will always have my admiration, and although winning is cool, winning doesn’t always make someone a winner. Racing clean, and racing safe while watching out for your fellow brother and sister on the race course is what makes you a winner - and in turn you’ll always have my sincere respect and these race series will continue.
Course diagram is posted below and on diablojsa.com.
Please become familiar with it before race day.
As always thanks for your support – and your interest!
Call or email me with any questions.
I look forward to seeing you all at SSVR, and now I get to say my 3 favorite words -
