Passport policy keeps getting delayed due to logistical concerns over how to upgrade millions of cross border travellers so, use driver's lic. & birth cert. and, check Canada Customs on line periodically.

You might need your passport to get back into the US

At the very least, having a valid passport reduces the potential for hassles at the border, in either direction.

A passport is a generally good thing to have.

And it is better to get it long before you may need it - much better than trying to get a passport at the last minute

Personally, I would never travel internationally without a passport.

i'm not really worried about getting back... i have a military I.D. and have never been hassled coming back having it, a drivers license, and a birth certificate...hows the weather been up there? definately have to make plans to get up there....

Passports are a must for cross border flying, but not driving, at this time.
The smokie roastin' fire is always hot. The beer is always cold . The riff raff are usually riffin' & raffin' . The natives are generally friendly, and the trails are sick funso, come on up.

You can't get that shit up here, but I'll refill a bottle for ya if you just gotta have something lighter (might be a little warm)
We recommend a 2 beer max (Canadian beer) for our southern friends, as 3 might make you fall off your ski.

you know i had the same conversation with some canadians the other day at one of the docks i fish at... they told me that i couldn't handle canadian beer and that american beer was garbage....but 20 minutes later they were asking me for a beer... i'm a sailor drank beer all around the world...it's just when i prefer to drink beer and hang out i drink bud light....when i'm on a mission to get drunk i drink whiskey...
