  • Havasu Poker Run

September 21 , 2006 The IJSBA is pleased to invite the Personal Watercraft Community to join us for an amazing Poker Run in conjunction with the 25th Anniversary World Finals. This poker run is brought to you courtesy of Walt’s Motorsports, Vista Del Lago, Kokomo’s, Bombardier Recreational Products, and the American Watercraft Association.

ONE LUCKY PARTICIPANT WILL WIN A BRAND NEW PERSONAL WATERCRAFT!
This awesome prize is made possible by the worlds’ leading PWC manufacturers: Sea-Doo, Kawasaki, Yamaha, and Honda. PM Sports Marketing coordinated the prize for this event. The IJSBA and AWA will also be offering some excellent prizes.

The Poker Run shall take place on October 7, 2006. Registration shall begin at Walt’s Motorsports. Walts’ Motorsports is located at 1551 South Palo Verde Boulevard in Lake Havsu City. Registration shall begin promptly after the IJSBA unveils its Hall of Fame display in Walts’ showroom. Viewing the Hall of Fame display will be the first stop of the participants’ poker run journey. Once the Poker Run participant gets on the water, they will make a stop at Vista Del Lago, the premiere new lakeside planned development on Havasu Lake. This stop is also home to the Havasu Landing Casino.

Participants will also visit the infamous Kokomo’s Club which is situated right on the channel beneath the famous London Bridge. Kokomo’s has long been a staple for those PWC enthusiasts who make a pilgrimage to Lake Havasu City. This may be the first time some participants have been to Kokomo’s, however it surely will not be the last. As part of the pristine London Bridge Resort, Kokomo’s is the cream of Lake Havasu night life.
The final water stop will be a secret location which shall be revealed during sign in. This last stop will be hosted by the American Watercraft Association. The AWA is the exclusive PWC association fighting for your rights to continue operating your PWC. All participants must be AWA members. The entry fee comes with a $10 weekend membership or a $10.00 discount for existing members.
The poker run will conclude at the IJSBA World Finals. The final stop will be a visit to the World Finals itself which is admission free to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of IJSBA racing. Afterwards, the poker hands will be finalized during a PWC social. Food will served to the participants during a relaxed setting. The prizes will be awarded at approximately 4:30 allowing all participants enough time to enjoy the event and to return their PWC to their respective launch areas before sunset.
The IJSBA is excited to provide you this poker run and we hope that all of you will share this information with your friends so this event is a success and can be repeated next year.
Champion Rentals is offering special rates for visitors who need a PWC for the Poker Run. They can be reached at www.championrentals.com or by calling (92-855-8088.
For more information, please contact the IJSBA at (714)-751-8695 or email [email protected].

Hope your knees are in good shape. Thats 60 miles of some very rough water. Caution the river is extremely hazardous in the mornings due to low water levels. Be Careful.

It's a sad story really. The SD sucked down a big ole rock and destroyed the impeller/stator etc. by the time we got parts it was late Thursday so we just decided to drive to Havasu and do our riding from the lake to the river. A mild stick kept me from the poker run and the water was big and ugly anyway so I guess it worked out O.K. Sunday I was in bed with a sore back and out late just for a cruise around the races and we started to drive home.

Sounds just like Jammer1's story with us in San Diego a few weeks ago-except his excuse for the rock in the prop was because of double "D's" on the beach that was calling out to him like a mermaid-we all figured it was just a Sea Lion LOL

                      LOL That's great!!

Naw this wasn't half as exciting he just wasn't paying attention and sucked up half the river getting to close to shore.
