Franky penalties

The IJSBA has determined that Franky Zapata has engaged in unprofessional, unsportsmanlike, and unnaceptable conduct while participating in the 2005 IJSBA World Finals. In addition to penalties levied at the event, the following shall be the enforced, effective immediately:

Mr. Zapata is not eligible to participate in the 2006 World Finals or the IJSBA World Tour. This ruling is not reviewable under any circumstance unless ALL of the other penalties are first complied with.
Mr. Zapata shall not participate in ANY IJSA sanctioned events for the balance of the 2005 calendar year.
Mr. Zapata must pay two fines of $500 each, for a total of $1,000.
Mr. Zapata must sucessfully comlete a bona fide anger management course.
Mr Zapata must make a presentation to Junior Class racers on the importance of good sportsmanship.

I was about to post that, this is the least they could do to sanction a piss poor behaviour.

Hopefully he will learn his lesson and next time he will not ruin all that hard work and training by behaving like a thug.

He ran over 2 lappers in the last 2 motos, in the 3rd moto he felt it was the lapper's fault so he thought it was a good idea to kick him in the face in tech after the race.

I heard all about the incident, but nothing about the victim. Was he hurt badly?

Last year McCluggage beat the snot out of some guy, and now this. Not good pub for an already dying sport.

No he wasn't hurt too bad, but it happened in front of his wife and kid.

It is a very different deal from last year.

MacClugage got into a drunk fight late in the night at the award party, Zapata aggressed Pulley in the middle of the post race tech inspections, which is still under IJSBA's rules.

That is why Chris didn't get sanctioned by the IJSBA and Zapata did.

Yeah, I know the two situations are different from a discipline perspective, but the black eye such incidents give the sport is the same. I have no evidence of a connection, but I don't think it is a coincidence that Mac left Kawi after that incident.

He wasn't factory rider anymore since 2003, he was heavily supported and after every season had to renegociate this support at the world finals.

It was a tight negociation already, his behaviour that night didn't help, AT ALL
