And the PLB is probably the most useful. These are cheap enough now there is no excuse not to have one. I took mine with me this past week hiking in Costa Rica. They are also good for land use too.

Sucked in some debris from all the runoff in Rocky River. I can say the paddle came in handy! I was able to get back by limping, towing and then paddling after the tower didn't want to go any farther. I was later able to extract the pieces of stick from the front of the impeller with a 16" pair of needle nose I bought at Auto Zone. The pieces came off easy once I let the ski set over night and let the wood dry out.

A oar which disassembles to 3 short pieces, sure beats paddling with your hands. A whistle to attract attention, and a 3 pak of handheld flares (nothing works better to let other know your in distress) as told by my local police. A small bilge pump looks like a air pump sure beats a Dixie cup every time. A ski rope so someone can tow you in. Small bottle of Dawn liquid dish soap to keep the bilge clean add when you launch drain at home. Most important tell a friend where your going to be and when to expect you to return!
