Could it be a quality issue with the aftermarket wear ring?
Id also look at your impeller and make sure it’s not bent or damaged at all. Check your jet pump bearings...

As long as the grease isn’t water or dirt contaminated it’s fine. I pull trailers 10s of thousands of miles a year. No bearing problems. I just took my ski trailer to Florida...

Seems the riva plate has a little more angle to it as well. Here’s the 2 plates back to back. By appearances, the Riva plate should be better all around
